What I’m Watching: Dead Billy (2016)

Synopsis: “Graduate student Calliope Girard's orderly life is thrown into chaos by unexplained seizures that unlock buried memories of a violent past.”

My take: Multiple timelines collide in this two-hour feature, with an ending that is both shocking and inevitable. Calliope is a strong, brilliant, dark, and calculating character, and the film’s visual language is pulled from a dread-inducing nightmare. Written and directed by Scotty Milder, Dead Billy is arthouse horror at its finest.
