Workshop: The Art of the Query

An important component of any sustained writing practice is sending work into the world for publication.

When I began my writing career, I had no clue how, where, or to whom to send my work. Craft workshops typically touched upon how to send a novel manuscript to an agent, but the world of the indie author includes much more than that. What about short stories? Where to send my collection? How to publish an anthology? What do I do with all of this flash fiction?

I’m delighted that after more than a decade of figuring this out on my own, I have the chance to share what I’ve learned.

On Friday, March 24th, I will present “The Art of the Query” at the 2023 Seahawk Writing Conference, a virtual Broward College SpringFest event.

For those who join me, we will discuss the necessary parts of creating a successful query and submission packet, as well as figure out where and how to submit.
