StokerCon Opening Ceremony

The first night in Pittsburgh for StokerCon was a blast.

I got to meet all of the black women horror writers I’d been chatting with and/or admiring from afar on social media.

The highlight of the evening was the picture I captured of Linda D. Addison, the first African American to win a Stoker Award, posing with five of this year’s finalists: Paula D. Ashe, R.J. Joseph, Erin E. Adams, L. Marie Wood, and Sumiko Saulson. They were all gracious and generous with hugs as I stood around fan-girling.
