StokerCon Schedule

I’m headed to Pittsburgh tomorrow to attend the Horror Writers Association’s StokerCon, and to say that I’m excited would be an understatement. In addition to my schedule below, I will be at the Black Women in Horror table in the Dealer’s Room, attending the Final Frame contest as well as the banquet and ceremony for the Bram Stoker Awards.

FRIDAY, JUNE 16

First up, I’ll be on a wonderful panel moderated by Lee Murray discussing the ins and outs of anthologies. I’ll get to share my experiences having my writing featured in speculative fiction anthologies as well as my work editing an award-winning, multi-genre anthology.

Off and on throughout the afternoon, I’ll be manning, er, womanning, the Black Women in Horror table in the Dealer’s Room with copies of my speculative collection, Unshod, Cackling, and Naked as well as my horror novella, Salamander Justice.

I will be signing copies of my work at the Mass Author Signing at 6:15pm EDT. With 600 people attending StokerCon and around 150 authors autographing works over the course of two sessions, the event sounds deliciously chaotic.

The Final Frame contest for short horror films occurs right after this, and I can’t wait to be frightened by all of the amazing entries and cheer on the winners.

SATURDAY, JUNE 17

I will start the day by reading from my collection alongside some true geniuses and will follow up with more Dealer’s Room womanning in the afternoon.

And I am beyond ecstatic that I get to moderate the Black Women in Horror panel at 4pm EDT!

I will end the night by attending the Stoker Awards banquet and ceremony. I’ll be cheering on all of my favorite writers, including the six black women nominated this year. As Issa Rae said, “I’m rooting for everybody black.”
